Painter, printmaker and teacher Sir Terry Frost RA (1915-2003) was a key figure in the development of British twentieth-century abstract art. Discovering a natural ability to capture likenesses, Frost began to explore his artistic talents when he was a prisoner of war. During the late 1940s, he honed and developed his artistic skills as a student at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. Dividing his time between the thriving art scenes of London and St Ives during the 1950s, Frost embraced abstraction and soon established himself as a leading British artist - a reputation which is still felt today.

About the Author: Dominic Kemp was born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, and educated at The Skinners' School for Boys, where he won the Shelton Agar Memorial Prize for art. He studied drama at West Kent College and has spent most of his career as an actor on stage, television and film. He set up his own Modern British Prints business in 2007 and was guest curator for the 50th anniversary exhibition at the Curwen & New Academy Gallery in 2008. This book marks a change of direction.
John Hoyland is one of Britain's leading abstract painters. He became a Senior Royal Academician in 1991.
Stanley Jones MBE is a printmaker and Director of the Curwen Press. He was a lecturer in lithography at Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, from 1958 until his retirement in 1998.
Brad Faine studied painting and printmaking at Leicester College of Art and at Goldsmiths College. He set up his own screenprinting company, The Coriander Studio, in 1973.
Charles Booth-Clibborn founded the Paragon Press in 1986 and has since published over ninety projects with artists such as Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor, Grayson Perry and Marc Quinn.
